The advantages that are immediately perceivable to the users of TCS Thickness Compensation System are two: the first concerns the product itself that presents a more uniform wall thickness in every part of the section (above all in the proximity of the mold parting line in correspondence to the upper dome and the bottom surface which are often critical areas). The second advantage directly concerns production; the correct and constant profiling to avoid thickening of the container means a significant saving of raw material, which cost affects significantly on the price of the finished product. A lighter piece but, above all, a more uniform thickness make the production cycle more efficient. The cooling of a profiled container with TCS will be more homogeneous and above all quicker, increasing the output capacity of the blow molding machine. On the basis of tests carried out, the average saving of material can be estimated around 7% (naturally depending on the type and dimension of the blow molded container), while average reduction of cycle time is set to about 15%.

Thickness Compensation System is an extremely innovative Uniloy Milacron patent, already available on the new models of continuous extrusion and accumulation heads. TCS can also be purchased as a separate kit to update previous technologies. The system has already been tested on both cylindrical shaped products and rectangular section products. TCS can be activated or deactivated at will (and very easily) and can be used independently from the type of raw material you need to process.
