When a parison demands slow extrusion speed to get a good quality, the continuous extrusion process with parison transfer is the most cost-effective solution for large blow molded items. Even resins with poor melt strength can be conveniently processed, as long as the cycle time is fast enough: LDPE in-liners for steel drums up to 220 liters have been one of the most interesting applications, besides a number of success cases in the production of technical parts for the automotive industry, and in the packaging sector for the production of medium size industrial containers.
